He is now at large again

He is now at large again

The scene from Wednesday evening (local time) caused sharp criticism of the Republican.

Trump said at his appearance that the four women would help the rise of a militant left and not love the United States. They never had anything good to say, so they could leave. The President addressed each of the women individually in the speech and particularly attacked Omar, who had fled to the United States with her family as a child from Somalia. The President accused the 37-year-old Muslim woman of having made multiple anti-Semitic statements. The audience then chanted: “” Send them back! “”.

Trump had asked the four women several times in the past few days to go back to their supposed home countries if they didn’t like it in the USA. The Democrats then accused him of racism.

The four politicians are all US citizens, three of them with a migration background: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is of Puerto Rican descent and was born in New York; Rashida Tlaib is the daughter of Palestinian immigrants, born in Detroit; Omar was born in Somalia, but was naturalized in the United States as a teenager. Ayanna Pressley is a non-immigrant African American, born in Chicago.

The scene of Trump’s campaign event caused horror in many. The American Jewish Committee (AJC) wrote on Twitter: “” That horrific chorus doesn’t make America great. Rather, it eerily reminds us of a dark time in our nation’s history. “”

Democratic senator and presidential candidate Kamala Harris said the incident was vicious, cowardly, xenophobic, racist and dragged the presidency into the mud.

Omar himself chose a clear message as a reply on Twitter: “” I am where I belong, in the House of the People, and you will simply have to deal with it “” – although the English “” you “” leaves open whether it is yours Words addressed to the Greenville crowd, the President, or any American.

In the US House of Representatives, a Democratic MP’s attempt to initiate impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump after Trump’s attacks failed.

A majority of the Democrats voted on Wednesday (local time) together with the Republicans to reject a corresponding resolution. On the other hand, 95 Democrats spoke out in favor of the Chamber’s Judicial Committee dealing with it.

The MP Al Green from Texas had argued in the resolution that Trump had proven with his attacks on four MPs criticized as racist that he was not worthy of the office.

Another move by the Democratic MPs was more successful: with a majority of 230 to 198 votes, the House of Representatives formally disapproved Trump’s Justice Minister William Barr and Trade Secretary Wilbur Ross for disregarding parliament.

The chamber voted by a majority of Democrats on Wednesday (local time) in favor of the move after Barr and Ross failed to comply with an official request by Congress for certain documents relating to the dispute over the upcoming US census.123helpme.me Above all, it is a political signal from the Democrat-dominated House of Representatives against ministers in the Republican-led administration of President Donald Trump.

In the Ukraine affair, US President Donald Trump comes under increasing fire. The focus is on a conversation with the Ukrainian President Zelenskyi. He has now spoken for the first time.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Selenskyj is keeping a low profile in the Ukraine affair over US President Donald Trump. When asked by Russian journalists whether Trump put undue pressure on him during a phone call in July, Zelenskyi replied on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York: “” Nobody can put pressure on me because I am the president of an independent state. Besides, the only person who can put pressure on me is my son, who is six years old. “”

When asked if he would ask Trump for something at a meeting, he replied: “” Asking something is not Ukraine’s style. “” The remarks were broadcast on Rossiya 24 on Wednesday. A meeting between Trump and Zelenskyi is planned for the course of the day.

Democrats against Trump: The risky impeachment plan Trump threatens impeachment: This is how impeachment works in the USA Comment on the Ukraine affair: Like 2016, only worse

The US Democrats are considering whether to initiate impeachment proceedings against Trump. They accuse him of trying to launch a smear campaign against Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden with the help of Ukraine before the November 2020 election. According to media reports, during the phone call in the summer, Trump urged Zelensky to initiate an investigation against Biden and his son, who worked for a company that drills for gas in Ukraine.

US President Trump is said to have put the Ukrainian President on the son of his possible challenger Biden. According to Kiev, however, there was only one “” friendly conversation “”.

After the accusation against US President Donald Trump that he had requested compromising information from the Ukrainian head of state Volodymyr Selenskyj about the son of the democratic US presidential candidate Joe Biden, Kiev tried to calm down.

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadim Pristaiko assured in a television interview recorded on Friday evening that the telephone conversation in question between the two heads of state was a “” long and friendly conversation “”.

“I know what they were talking about and I think there was no pressure,” “Pristaiko told the Ukrainian broadcaster Hromadske. It was about “” many questions “” to which in certain cases very serious answers had to be given. The Ukrainian chief diplomat rejected the request for the minutes to be published. As an independent country, Ukraine has the right to keep state secrets, he emphasized.

Biden asks for the text of the conversation

US media reported that Trump phoned the Ukrainian President on July 25 and asked him to gather compromising information about Biden’s son Hunter. Joe Biden, who is the favorite in the running for the presidential candidacy of the US Democrats, then demanded that the text of the explosive conversation be published immediately.

“If these allegations are true, then President Trump’s willingness to abuse his power and humiliate our country knows no bounds,” said Biden. The former US Vice President spoke of “” clear corruption “”. At the very least, Trump “” immediately publishes the transcript of the call in question so that the American people can judge for themselves.

Trump calls allegations ridiculous

Trump vehemently defends himself against the suspicion of having made an inappropriate and secret “promise” in a conversation with a foreign state leader. He called the suspicion raised against him, according to the “Washington Post,” by an intelligence officer, “” ridiculous. The conversation with the foreign politician that is at stake was not “” delicate “”, but “” was “completely appropriate” “.

The “” Wall Street Journal “” reported that Trump tried “” about eight times “” in the relevant phone call to target Zelenskyj to the activities of Hunter Biden, who had worked for a Ukrainian gas company since 2014 during Biden’s tenure as US Vice President. To this end, Trump asked Selenskyj to work with his lawyer Rudy Giuliani. There are alleged cases of corruption at the gas company, but Hunter Biden has never been personally accused.

The controversy surrounding the phone call was fueled by the fact that Washington withheld $ 250 million in military aid to Ukraine in late July. That money was finally released by the White House last week. Trump and Zelensky are due to meet on Wednesday on the sidelines of the UN general debate in New York.

US President Trump has appointed a new National Security Advisor. Robert O’Brien is considered a shrewd negotiator – and is likely to appear much more diplomatic than his predecessor.

A week after the ousting of hardliner John Bolton, US President Donald Trump announced the appointment of diplomat Robert O’Brien as the new National Security Advisor. O’Brien has been “” very successful “” as a special envoy for hostage matters in the State Department, Trump said on Twitter on Wednesday. “” I’ve worked long and hard with Robert. He’ll do a great job, “” wrote Trump.

The lawyer becomes the fourth National Security Advisor in Trump’s tenure. The National Security Advisor plays an important role in the formulation of US foreign and security policy. He reports directly to the President; his appointment does not have to be confirmed by the US Senate.

O’Brien is likely to be more reserved than Bolton

Numerous conflicts await O’Brien in which the US government plays a leading role: the negotiations with North Korea to abandon the nuclear weapons program of the east Asian country, the escalating crisis with Iran, the instability in the Middle East, the efforts to stabilize Afghanistan , the change of government in Venezuela hoped for by the USA as well as tensions due to the escalating trade conflict with China.

O’Brien’s predecessor Bolton was considered to be opinionated and did not shy away from clear announcements even when making public appearances. O’Brien, on the other hand, is likely to play a less exposed role under Trump.

O’Brien also negotiated Asap Rocky

O’Brien had become known to a wider audience in the summer because Trump had sent him to Sweden to watch a trial against American rapper Asap Rocky. O’Brien’s operation had caused astonishment, as the musician was charged with assault and was temporarily detained – but was by no means in a hostage situation. The musician was convicted of assault in August. He is now at large again.

In his previous role, the lawyer O’Brien advised the government on hostage-taking and kept in touch with the families of kidnapped people, according to the State Department website. The career diplomat under Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Hillary Clinton had previously dealt with judicial reforms in Afghanistan. Prior to that, he was confirmed by the Senate in 2005 to work with then UN Ambassador Bolton in New York. O’Brien is also a founding partner of a Los Angeles law firm that specializes in international litigation, according to the ministry.

US Ambassador Grenell was probably also in discussion

After Bolton was thrown out, several US media reported unanimously that the US ambassador to Germany, Richard Grenell, would also be considered a possible successor. The “” Washington Post “” reported on Tuesday, citing unnamed members of the government, Grenell was now eligible for another government post.

Trump had surprisingly announced on Tuesday last week that he had fired Bolton because of a difference of opinion. Bolton himself, however, said on Twitter that he had offered to resign and had not been kicked out. After Bolton’s departure, his previous deputy Charlie Kupperman took over the office.

Bolton was always at odds with Trump

Trump said Bolton made “” some very serious mistakes – for example when he proposed a “” Libyan model “” of nuclear disarmament for North Korea. The Libyan ruler Muammar al-Gaddafi agreed in 2003 under international pressure to abandon his program on weapons of mass destruction. A few years later, Gaddafi was ousted and killed.

Bolton was at odds with Trump on several foreign policy issues. For example, there were differences over the question of whether the US should conclude an agreement with the Taliban in Afghanistan. He was also one of the ardent advocates of the US invasion of Iraq, which Trump has criticized as a grave mistake.

Tensions with Iran persist

Bolton also took an unforgiving stance on the Iran conflict. Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammed Jschwad Sarif accused Bolton of wanting to involve Trump in a military confrontation with his country. Trump also apparently blamed him for the US government’s tough stance on Venezuela’s controversial President Maduro – and the lack of the quick solution to the conflict targeted by Bolton.

Iran sanctions: Trump announces significant tightening of John Bolton’s dismissal: an agitator leaves Iran crisis: Pompeo fears secret “” nuclear activities “”

However, hopes that tensions between the US and Iran could ease after Bolton’s expulsion were not fulfilled. Trump announced on Wednesday that the sanctions against Iran would be tightened further. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo accuses Iran of being the initiator of the attacks on Saudi oil facilities last Saturday. Iran rejects that. After Bolton’s expulsion, Pompeo made it clear that personnel changes did not mean a fundamental change in Trump’s foreign policy.
